We truly could not accomplish what we do without the faithful support of our volunteers.  There are many ways to get involved, please see the listing below.  While we have listed all of our volunteer roles, our needs do change.

DIRECT SERVICE VOLUNTEER ROLES:

Direct Service Roles are only available during our business hours.  As a licensed social service agency New Life requires all Direct Service Volunteers to pass a background check, agree to confidentiality, be trained as mandated reporters, and earn 12 credits of continuing education, as mandated by the State of Minnesota.  Each of these requirements are completed through our agency, no training obtained outside of New Life is required.  The application for these roles is located above.

Conquerors Group Facilitator or Mentor: Conquerors is a support program for women and men suffering from the painful effects of a past abortion.

Medical Provider (Medical License required): Provide STD testing and treatment.

Every Family Assistant: Prepare materials prior to appointments. Greet, check-in, and interact with clients and their children. Provide administrative support and update clients’ files after each appointment. (Requires application, background check, and training.)

Every Family Parenting Coach: Provide parenting education and model learning opportunities while engaging in coaching sessions with parents. Build rapport by establishing a safe environment and asking questions. Coach up to 4 clients each week during a shift. (Requires application, background check, and training.)

Small Group Facilitator: Share your expertise and lead classes for clients in our Every Family program. Areas of need are pregnancy care, infant care, child development, healthy relationships, nutrition, wellness, and budgeting.

Sonographer (RDMS required): Conduct limited, first-trimester ultrasounds.

Intern: Nine-month Internships (fall through spring) are available in appropriate areas of study. (Bachelors level only). Space is limited.  Contact the Volunteer Coordinator for a complete listing of available internships.

*There is always a great need for Spanish-speaking volunteers.

SUPPORT VOLUNTEER ROLES:

Support volunteer roles vary in needed availability and time commitment.  Please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for details about your area of interest. 

Administrative Office Assistant: Help in the office during business hours making copies, creating client packets, organizing materials, light cleaning, and miscellaneous projects. (Requires application, background check, and confidentiality training.)

Baby Item and Equipment Donors: Support our clients in need of baby items by donating new and gently used items to our Clothing Closet. All equipment must be new. Call your closest office for a list of their greatest needs.

Clothing Closet Assistant: Our Clothing Closet allows clients to earn necessary baby and maternity items. Assistants commit to ensuring that our Clothing Closet is fully stocked with the donations received. (Requires application, background check, and confidentiality training.)

Church Ambassador: Act as a liaison between your congregation and New Life. Promote special events and communicate the needs and services of New Life to your congregation. Email Churches@NLFS.org for more information about this role.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Support our clients by helping to ensure a clean, efficient, and welcoming center.

Cooking and Baking: Donate your time and talented cooking skills by providing homemade foods for New Life’s trainings, seminars, and meetings.

Marketing & Outreach Assistant: Help us advertise our pregnancy center services to potential clients by distributing our First Care Pregnancy Center brochures, posters, and other promotional materials to businesses, schools, or churches in your area.

In-Office Prayer Team: Join others in our centers to pray on a regular basis.

Prayer Partner: Commit to praying for our ministry weekly through email updates.  Sign up here.

Special Events: Assist with special events throughout the year.
