We’ve had 230 more spiritual conversations this year than last—putting us on pace for over 1,700 conversations by year-end
Spanish-speaking appointments have grown by over 300%

Behind every number is a name, a face, and a story. Read Ahou’s story in her own words:

I first connected with First Care in 2019 when I was pregnant with my first child. As a new immigrant with no family nearby and very limited resources, I was overwhelmed. My husband and I were both unemployed, and everything felt uncertain.

The first person I met at First Care was Melanie, and from that moment, I felt seen, respected, and truly cared for. She welcomed me with warmth and compassion that I will never forget. I learned how to care for my baby and how to become a confident parent.

In 2024, I became pregnant again, and it was very difficult. The first four months were filled with severe sickness, isolation, and emotional struggle. I felt hopeless and even considered abortion.

The first person I reached out to was Melanie. She listened without judgment and gave me the space to express my fears while also offering support and resources. Her encouragement helped me reflect and make the decision to parent.

Today, I’m beyond grateful to share that in January, I gave birth to my beautiful baby girl. We named her Princess Melanie, in honor of the incredible woman at First Care who supported me through one of the hardest seasons of my life.
