At New Life Family Services, we celebrate and recognize all mothers – every day of the year. With Mother’s Day approaching, we recognize this holiday can be both joyful and painful for the women we serve.
On Mother’s Day…
…we recognize new moms. For some women we serve, the recent news of pregnancy and motherhood is unexpected and overwhelming. Our staff honor them with a listening ear, honest information about fetal development and pregnancy options, along with practical support and encouragement every step of the way. We rejoice with them when a choice for life is made and their hearts begin to change from fear to excitement in welcoming a little one.
…we acknowledge birth mothers who have lovingly placed their child(ren) for adoption or are in the process of making an adoption plan for their child(ren). These women are full of love for their child(ren) and we are moved by their stories. We honor their sacrifice in making a courageous and loving adoption decision.
To honor oft-forgotten birth mothers, we host an annual Birth Mother Dinner the Friday prior to Mother’s Day every year. (If you are a birth mother, we would love to see you there. It’s not too late to RSVP!)
…we celebrate with adoptive mothers, who have carefully prepared for months and sometimes years to welcome their children into their homes, families, and the fabric of their daily lives. We honor their perseverance in their journey to motherhood and their huge hearts in caring not only for their children but for the birth parents as well.
…we seek solidarity with those for whom Mother’s Day is difficult. For those who have lost a child to miscarriage, abortion, or other circumstances. For those who have lost their own mothers, or for those who long to be a mother, but circumstances dictate otherwise. We grieve with you, and pray that God will comfort you this Mother’s Day.
On behalf of New Life Family Services, we wish you a very happy Mother’s Day. We celebrate you!
