On Saturday, February 24th, New Life Family Services hosted its Second Annual “Me Too” event in collaboration with other abortion recovery programs based in Minnesota, including its own Conquerors program.

Along with New Life Family Services’ Conquerors
program, local ministries including Liberate Ministries and Rachel’s Vineyard, worked together to promote this unique event designed to bring women together to celebrate their freedom and forgiveness from past abortions. Nearly fifty women attended Saturday’s luncheon held at University of Northwestern, St. Paul. Candy Gibbs, host and executive director of the CareNet Pregnancy Centers & Mentoring Programs in Amarillo, Texas, was the keynote speaker at the event.

Keynote Speaker, Candy Gibbs

Candy shared about her own personal abortion story and encouraged women to share their own stories of healing and forgiveness.

“Even though this was a wrong decision, we have the responsibility to share about our experience for those considering abortion.”

Women in attendance were challenged throughout the event to continue walking in the freedom and forgiveness they have found and share their story to help others find the same freedom.

Here’s what the women in attendance are saying:

The most encouraging part of this event is knowing I am not alone and we can all get together to support each other in our journeys. It was also great to talk about how we can help others as we move forward.”

I absolutely loved the event! I loved the beautiful setting of University of Northwestern, fabulous food, fellowship, and the speaker – all were wonderful!”

Many women and men believe that they are the only one they know who has had an abortion. Few people talk about it because of the shame and embarrassment they feel.  As a result, many women and men are suffering in silence.   In reality, 1 in 3 women will have an abortion by age 45.

While you are not alone, how you came to the decision to have an abortion is unique.
The Conquerors program recognizes that your path for healing will be unique as well.  The Conquerors program provides a safe, non-judgmental, confidential place to begin the healing process, and work through your abortion experiences.  The program is led by those who have had abortions and can relate to your experience.
